The Space Universities Network (SUN) holds an annual half day workshop bringing together UK space industry and higher educational teaching staff. The event is made up of presentations from both sectors and networking opportunities. This year’s theme is AI in Space Teaching.
Date: 10:30-16:30 4th July 2023
This summer, we are excited to announce that, for the first time since the pandemic began, we will be able to welcome attendees in person as the workshop will be hosted by the University of Birmingham.
In light of recent advancements in large language models, such as ChatGPT-4, the workshop will focus on the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and the space sector. This free to attend event will feature two main components: informative talks from industry experts highlighting the current applications of AI within the space sector (including Earth Observation, AI Regulation, and Onboard Intelligence for Satellites and Robotic Systems), and presentations by SUN members discussing the benefits and implications of integrating AI into space-related assessments. There is also time dedicated to questions and 2-minute pitches from attendees to promote opportunites for collaboration.
For recordings of the event please check out the workshop playlist on our YouTube Channel.
Slides from each talk can be accessed through the resource bank.
