Earth Observation
The United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in September 2015. The Agenda, with a list of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 associated targets, attempts to put the world on an inclusive and sustainable course by 2030. Food security; availability of clean water, affordable and clean energy, health and education; developing sustainable cities and communities; decent work and economic growth; sustainable management of natural resources and combating climate change are the primary target areas for the Agenda. Earth Observation data and information undoubtedly offers cost-effective technology means for the success of SDGs.
